GONE FISHIN'
There were lots of people there. There are two friends who were in Janelle's class the year before last, who were there. We caught our first little guy and the kids mom gave us some of her "magic" bait. Seriously they were catching some huge fish. The bait looked mini marshmallows spray painted with gold glitter paint. But it really was some sort of bait ... spray painted with gold glitter paint!!!! HOW crazy is that, but it worked! We also got their lucky fishin'
spot when they left too! FISH ON!!
While we were waiting in line to have our fish weighed in, I noticed a boy in a wheel chair behind us ... gosh, I thought he sure looks like Nick. Then I noticed his sister, she looks just like Nick's sister, then the father, then the mother ... OMG it was the Brittell family ... we hadn't seen them in years, but the mother ... Leslie is one of my facebook buddies!
Janelle and Nick were born around the same time and were baby neighbors in the NICU at Emanuel Hospital. We hadn't seen them in person since the kids were 2 years old. It was great to see them, and I even got a picture of Janelle and Nick together! How cool is that! :)
Janelle is not afraid to hold the fish, so we took a picture of her holding one of her trophies!
What is that saying - a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work ... well, it sure was a lot of fun!

OK, here goes ...
The blue and yellow plates I found for pretty cheap at Paws & Claws. A great way to support those animals!
I do have all the tools for mosiacs, but I decided to put the plates in a gallon size ziplock bag and drop them a few times outside. I then mashed the big chunks with a screwdriver cuz I was too lazy to go get the hammer out of our shed. As I smashed these pieces, I think my daughter thought I had lost it. Possibly I have!
Anyhoo, I have them all glued down, in rows, which isn't really how you do it, but I was only using two colors for a starter project, so that is how I chose to do it. Next time I will add more colors!
The adhesive needs to dry for 24 hrs, so I will be able to grout tomorrow.
Wish me luck! :)

I am back!!
Now that summer is in full swing, I have the TO DO list all mapped out, some appointments scheduled, I even went on a job interview *gasp* - it is for a VERY part time position with a company called KidzArt. If nothing else, I have to say that I was very pleased to have the over the phone interview AND then the personal interview. I get so stinkin' nervous in job interviews, but I am pleased to have had the opportunity since there were about 100 applicants! So, if nothing else, it was good for me to experience this, since all interviews are different.
Back to the fun things .... I have some beach reservations set up for us, some fun things planned, I have had some long overdue visits with a few friends, and ... I also have some brand spankin' new stamping goodies! Whooo hooo!
So with this, I will be cutting, chopping, snipping and preparing for my next card class. Invites will go out today, and I am hoping we can hang out at our local pizza joint and relax and enjoy each others wonderful company, surrounded by some great new stamp sets!
Stay tuned ....
