Good Day Sunshine!

Ohhh don't I wish that this was our four day weekend! I have to say, I have had a wonderful two days off.

If you are expecting to see some wonderful craft that I have been working on this weekend ...well I haven't even touched any of the crafty stuff. Not even my new stamp sets!

I have done quite a bit inside the house, pulled a few weeds, (outside - ha ha) did a little shopping, took a little gift to my little neighbor girl who has surgery. Chatted with some neighbors as well as Matt, our best man. I really thought I would be rolling up my sleeves to do some painting on my cabinets. My project was going strong until sh *t hit the fan at work and my stress level was telling me that my mind wasn't in it. Now I have no excuse. Do I like having a patchwork kitchen, a little primer, a little finished cabinets, and a few unfinished? No, but I will get to it soon. My husband even told me to hold off until summer and finish it then, but hopefully it won't take me that long to start in again. The sunny weather was just what I needed to get a grip on a few weeds and to tidy up a bit.

Rick bbq'd some ribs, with Sweet Baby Ray's ... oh yeah, that was a great dinner. What is for dessert? Good question.

We have 4 school days this week, and will have a 4 day weekend for Memorial Day, then another 4 days of work next week. Then the real countdown will start. Not really stressed about summer getting here so quickly, but I do enjoy my summer days off with my Janelle Bug!

Cheers!

THANK YOU ladies for a very fun evening, I really needed that and I think that all in attendance totally earned it!

Thanks to a wonderful gal, I now have a fun place to take a friend from out of town ... Valerie, there is a drink with your name on it here! OR even my in town friends. I think my husband, daughter and I need to have lunch on the deck one of these fine summer days!

I have to say that I was rather intrigued by the margarita machines at the Island Cafe! I WANT ONE, but it probably wouldn't be that practical in my kitchen huh? They actually have four lined up in their bar area. How cool would that be?

As for other things, lots of changes and not much crafting. As you can see I have taken up drinkin' instead! LOL Work has been one big ball of stress to put it nicely, but after a few changes, we have one of the best teachers ever, my blood pressure has taken a huge nosedive! WHEW ... it was a hell of a ride! Kitty is doing well after her female surgery, family is great ... sunshine on the way this weekend, what more can you ask for? Well, besides the margarita machines that is!

My husband, daughter and family spoiled me on Mother's Day. I woke up to Janelle bringing me a gift and a card. She gave me a heart shaped magnet made of pink colored rice, the night before. (she couldn't wait) Then I got a cool CD - hits from the 70's ... some great songs! Rick pulled on his sweats and headed to Starbucks, returning with my skinny mocha and a hot chocolate for Janelle. My front porch is sportin' a beautiful fuschia plant that Rick hung up and then told Janelle to have Mom look out the front door ... awwwhhhh. Rick gave that to me, from Janelle the night before as well ... guess he couldn't wait either. Janelle made me a card at school that is absolutely adorable ... it's a real keeper! :) When we went to my parents to visit my Mom, she had Janelle give me a gift (from Janelle) it is a yard ornament that is a ... hmmm maybe a porcupine, maybe a possum. It is kind of a joke, because we have had some possum problems over the past few years in our area. So, this cute possum can sit out back as a decoy! Thanks my lovelies ... I have a wonderful Mother's Day! (smooch)

I actually got a new Stampin' Up order this last week. I have lots of new toys to play with and I have scheduled my next workshop. I can't wait to play with the new Sizzix textured impressions sleeve that fits in my Cuttlebug machine!

Fish On!!

Today was the Crystal Springs Fishing Derby!
Janelle caught two trout with the help of one of the nice fishing volunteers. Then we took a few quick pictures before it was time for the guys at the cleaning table to gut, clean and put them in a bag with ice for our ride home.

Janelle had a great time fishing, then we enjoyed the nice hamburger and hot dog bbq, with chips, cookies and pop.

It started to sprinkle for a bit, then it was full sunshine for the bbq. Yeah!!

What's that saying ... a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work - is that it? ... well, that just might be true!

Mojo is rising ....

I have been studying some card designs and layouts and have also attended a stamp class with my upline, so I have to say ... I have some mojo built up inside ready to burst!

I have my stamp order placed, and now it is time to sit back and wait for the man in brown! I LOVE the sound of that big brown truck pulling up to my house ... yes, I have been known to meet him half way up our front walk. Well, I was just trying to save him some steps ... or was I really that excited ... ok, yes I was! I love getting new stamp goodies - it is just like Christmas for me every time I open that Stampin' Up box packed with entirely too much paper, but it keeps out precious goodies from getting all banged up on their ride to a better home! Stay tuned for mojo production!

Happy Birthday Erika!

I have to say that I really like leaving little surprises in people mailboxes in the staff lounge ... although I pretty much got busted big time on this one! Perhaps I need to put a bright red button of sorts on Erika's mailbox so I don't have to hunt for it! Her box is up HIGH like mine is ... so when we check mail we jump up and down or we swipe our hand over the shelf like we are dusting!

For some reason I have a vision of something pink and brown in design ... so I made a b-line to Joann's right after school and found the designer paper I wanted to use.

I was pretty jazzed about trying out a new box pattern my upline shared with me. This box holds approx. 6 cards and envies without a lot of ribbon. I really needed to make the box a tad bit larger to fit more, so I SQUEEZED 4 cards and envies in one box and woola!

I will be using that pattern again. Would this be cool to have several of these made up ahead of time to have on hand?
